Hawker Culture in Singapore is an integral part of the way of life for Singaporeans, where people from all walks of life gather at hawker centres to dine and bond over their favourite hawker food, which are prepared by hawkers. The UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (2003) seeks to encourage state party members to identify, protect and safeguard intangible cultural heritage practices around the world. Hawker culture was successfully inscribed on 16 Dec 2020.
